Medical Tests

When your doctor advised tests for you, he/she will give you the following:

  • a booking and instructions slip for you to show to reception - it instructs them when to book you in for the tests we do at the surgery, and it also has written instructions for you on how to get your results. Sometimes your doctor will want to see you with the results, or he may ask you to phone his secretary. We do not send out results by email or text.
  • if you are going to have an X-ray or ultra-sound you will be given a form. There are phone numbers on the top of the form so you can choose where to go and then book your appointment.  It can take up to two weeks for some results to come through.

If your doctor has advised you to have a test done, please do so! - your doctor feels it is important.

The tests we can do at the surgery include:

  • blood tests
  • ECG
  • spirometry
  • INR testing (warfarin clinic)
  • urine testing
  • 24 hour blood pressure monitoring
  • Doppler studies
