Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home and think you need medical advice, please contact your own GP in the first instance. They may be able to offer a telephone consultation, and if you are registered with another GP in England, will be able to send a prescription electronically to a local pharmacy if required.

If your usual GP decide you need to be physically examined, you will need to register as a temporary patient. Our clinicians will triage your call in the first instance, before deciding on appropriate treatment which may include a face to face appointment.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be seen by us for emergency care but still remain registered with your permanent GP.

You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
